FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER

BOROUGH OF KITTANNING

Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Borough of Kittanning Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full Time Police Officer for the Borough of Kittanning.

General Requirements:

Candidates, at the time of application must: (1) Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED); (2) Be eligible to be act 120 certified under the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Act (Act 120) by March, 2022. Be a United States Citizen: (4) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer; (5) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; and (6) Be eligible to legally operate a motor vehicle in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, applicants must reside within 10 air miles within 1 year after hire.

Successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the Borough’s Civil Service rules and Regulations that will include a background investigation, physical fitness test, drug screening and if selected, be required to successfully pass a physical and psychological examination.

An application form may be obtained at the Kittanning Borough Police Department located at 300 S. McKean St. Kittanning, Pa. 16201. A completed application, with a $50 non-refundable application fee, must be filed by 4:00pm March 11, 2022. Applications can be picked up at the Station Monday through Friday 8:30am until 12:00 and 1:00pm until 4:30pm. Application pick up and drop off must be done in person.
